Silverwater

|
The bridge across Duck River, Silverwater,
is not recommended for cyclists or motorists. |
Silverwater
Silverwater has three distinctive features:
factories (the most dominant), the jail (not far behind) and
the walk beside the Parramatta River.
South Granville
If the Tour de France were held a century and a half ago, they would have been racing penny-farthings.
You can still see one in Gordon Avenue, South Granville.
The name comes from comparing the size of the wheels with the old penny and farthing coins.
South Wentworthville
Bates Street, South Wentworthville:
You never know when you might need some more wood for the fire.
South Wentworthville
South Wentworthville has Sydney’s
longest suburb name—19 letters. Try writing or
typing it a few times; the rest of us should be grateful
that we have a shorter suburb name.
Does your city have any longer suburb names?
